Halloween cookies

Last week, M's school needed volunteers to make cookies to the kids, so I agreed to bake 3 dozens. The girls helped me decorating with dried fruits & sunflower seeds

I made 3 different cookie doughs.
Lemony sugar cookie
Icebox cookies
chocolate icebox cookies

I rolled the dough into 2 inches diameter cylinder, and wrapped them in parchment paper, twist the end like candy.
When it was ready to bake, just slice the dough 1/4 inches thick, and lay them on parchment paper for the girls to decorate. It was a lot of fun and easy, faster than using cookie cuter.

M even made a princess cookie (shown in middle), and birthday cookie (she ate them before I could take a picture)

Pumpkin carving for the first time

We got free pumpkin from aHalloween event we went to in San Francisco.
So I thought it'll be fun doing pumpkin carving.
I bought a carving kit from craft store, and M picked the carving design.
Here she is helping me trace the pumpkin template on to the pumpkin.

The pumpkin turned out pretty good. Maybe we can make this as a new tradition to do every year during Halloween...

Now we have a bit of pumpkin left over, maybe try baking a pumpkin pie? ;P
